I love Valentine’s Day. I love my husband. I’m married to a Chef, so I don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day LOL..
Our goal for Valentine’s Day is to offer couples an experience where they didn’t feel rushed. We offer a 4 Course Dinner with complimetary glass of Prosecco to start.
Maybe Chef and I will see you next year in our Kitchen
Chef and I have been busy with Catering the last few weeks. In-House and Off-Premise. Most of you who follow, knows it’s just him and I, so we’re exhausted.
Tonight we’re pulling off a triple shift delivery for Coca Cola with the last delivery at 2:00am tomorrow. Hopefully get back to bed because we are hosting the last Wedding of the Year tomorrow (Dec 23rd)..

It’s almost an automatic response from customers when they order pasta. What baffles me, is that they ask without even tasting the food.
The Chef takes time to create this dish, you should taste it as it was sent out. If you need that little extra, then say “may I have some cheese please”.
It’s the same with Waiters automatically offering pepper. I can see it on Steak or a salad but we should all be able to taste the food, then make that request. Or perhaps not feel slighted because the Waiter didn’t offer it.

I love Halloween!!! After 20 years, Chef came to love Halloween also. haha. I’ve always dressed up and over the years, he’s joined Chef Baby and I only a handful of times. Now that we have the Restaurant on Metropolitan Avenue, it’s exciting to dress up and hand out Candy..
This year we had an Event booked, so we had to work. It was also a Saturday, so we knew the Trick or Treaters would begin early. Since we were working, he had to be in Chef uniform. I thought I’d be some form of food, to go along with his uniform. That didn’t pan out well. LOL.
Eventually, we settled on Collette and Linguini from Ratatouille.. It was such a huge hit, we were quizzing passers by on names. No one got it, they just kept saying Ratatouille.. hehe
We made out Cauldron display again this year and to our delight, we had kids return just to see it. What a wonderful memory it must have been for them. Chef and I were so happy. This year we cooked Spiders and Worms.

I’ve been trying to photograph my hubby aka Chef at work (when time allows). I realized the photos show his Wedding Band and thought, “Does your Chef wear his Wedding Band at work”?
I believe the question had come up on our Chef Wives “club” but never really responded there, since it has never been an issue for us. His is a rugged clunky ring; been on his finger going on 20 years. So I googled said question and found some interesting comments:
1. If it’s a simple band, yes. No to Stones – which I can understand, you wouldn’t want wear and tear and a diamond falling into your gravy.
2. Some Chef Wives admitting that they’ve requested, asked, demanded that their Chefs wear their rings.
It honestly never occurred to me to be an issue until i began looking at the photos.. Rings are a symbol of our union. Whether your Chef wears it or not at work, shouldn’t impact your relationship/marraige.
What’s your take on the topic? Would love to hear.

Disclaimer: By no means do I think of myself as such. However, one of my Client posted a review on our FB page and it made me giggle. You see, they did a last minute wedding and I was able to pull it off..
Lately, it seems that we’ve been getting calls for small weddings (under 40) and all happening within less than 2-3 weeks from first call. My couples all have their own reasons for rushing, some it’s the dates 4/4 or 5/5 others it’s because they have family visiting from abroad and need to coordinate while others eh hem just need to get it done. To me it’s a breath of fresh air and it doesn’t matter to me but I know I can get it done in a week.. Whether it’s 20 or 80.. I have a solid list of Vendors who are accommodating to me.
I have been receiving a number of calls for City Hall Wedding Receptions.. AND WHY NOT!! If you’re going to a Restaurant afterwards, why not consider having a mini-reception?

I began this blog, partly to encourage myself to take more photos, since I gave it up once we started this business but to also share with you our Events, my thoughts on Catering etc..
Chef and I have just been so busy with Catering and Events, both in-house and off-premise. I’ve been trying to keep up with Facebook, Instagram, Twitter but totally neglected blogging…
The business has exceeded our expectation. Still in growing stage but we are keeping afloat. Have already formed a solid client referral base, which is unbelievable in just over 2 years. We are booked every weekend through July and already have five Weddings under my belt for 2015 Wedding Season.
Here in My Kitchen, we’ve created an intimate setting. Guests have said “It feels like home but without the cleanup”. Yet, at other times, it has transformed itself into this beautiful Catering Hall for Weddings.
I love that my Clients are realizing our potential as Event Planners and most events we host, are typically above what was first presented. We are not just a Restaurant Space – We are a Banquet Space.
Well hopefully I can get into the rhythm of maintaining blogging.
